Kite runner

Despite my uber busy life, or procastinating life.. I still crave for fiction books, which I've hardly ever read since I was in my teens..
Lately, I've been trying to read books whenever on the bus, despite the short 15-20 mins journey
And guess what? I've managed to finish these two within 2 weeks! But I guess I should put a halt to this again..Or my eyesight will spoil ><

Before I read The Kite Runner, Life of 'Pai' has been a really funny and interesting one..
But the Kite Runner is simply fascinating!

Today, as I was finishing the last part of the Kite Runner during my dinner, my tears swelled up..

I just couldn't control my cravings for storybooks
They say it's a good way to relax and relieve stress, even if you just read for 10mins
For me, I'll probably be finishing a book within the same day if I could. I wish laa...

For you a thousand times over~

Keep on believing

I'm going back soon..!! Can't wait :D For a few days is better than none, right??
Possibly because of the ups and downs, which is always parts and parcels of life I guess

I received a nice quote today on "Life isn't about how to survive in the storm, but how to dance in the rain~"

It's so true. It's always a matter of our perception and how we deal with it.

And I just can't fail to deny how true are my instincts, as always. Sigh. Shouldn't I 'smartly' utilise it?
Ish..

Anyway, I just realised how much less-motivated I am compared to years before.
Weird, isn't it? Where's the passion?? What had happened?? What the h*ll had really happened?
I don't know, and I'm really curious with this actually..
One word- Indescribable..at the moment. Cham~

Before I make my leave, let us enjoy this superb song :)

Fear not, and dream for the dreams. The answer lies within it.

Happy mooncake festival!!

Short updates

Aloooo~~
Yep, short updates on me..
Been so inactive lately in blogging part and also in visiting other's blogs..
Procastination is definitely the case..but being busy too is one of the reasons. Works are piling up as always.

I went back home just in time to celebrate my dad's birthday, brother's birthday and also Father's day. All-in-one trip. Not forgetting, Mother's day one since I failed to go back home in May.
So four-in-one huh?:P
So unwillingly have to come back though most of the time was spent shopping with family, especially with my mom :D
I was very glad too because all of us was around. Lucky that both my brothers were available to celebrate all these special events together.

We went Rakuzen for Japanese buffet lunch located at Chulan Square, since both my parents hardly indulge in Japanese food. We were taking efforts in organising this grand lunch especially for our beloved dad. However, we did had some setbacks because my brother wanted them to have traditional Chinese cookings in restaurants (because he's worried that my parents might not be enjoying the food), but I wanted something more extraordinary since my parents seldom eat Japanese food, and what more, buffet style.

Initially, I wanted them to have it at the Rakuzen@Sri Hartamas since I found many good recommendations at that place but unfortunately, they were fully booked :(
So, we reserved the Chulan Square's one.
The food was good, and the service was excellent! I especially liked the green tea ice cream :D
The amount of salmon fish that I took was also =.+"
I think I will stop having raw salmon fish for some time..

Overall, it was definitely a good one! At least, I'm truly glad that my parents did enjoyed the food too..hehe
They say they wouldn't mind going for food like this again. =D

I managed to meet up very few friends only this time for simple meet ups and also indulge in some good music!

Then, I finally went to Universal Studio Singapore and Sentosa and we had lotsa fun there!
Thanks for the souvenirs and the rides! Hehe :D

As for now, more work to come.
Some of the good news are:
  1. I'll be meeting an old friend who had taught me lots of things when I was doing my practical years ago in here soon! hehe :D
  2. My sort-of-godbrother- unofficial one is going to commence and get his pHD title!! Finally~~!!! :D
  3. My another old friend will be coming here for a short visit!
  4. I'll get to watch my senior to graduate too! Am so glad!
  5. Probably some old friends will be dropping by here too if they can make it, since they'll be having a long holiday in M'sia. We'll see we'll see;)
Anyway, hopefully things will be smoother by September =)
Remember that time flies, so please treasure time with your family. I realised that my parents are aging so fast, and that I hardly spend much time with them. I hope I don't regret this in years to come.

So long~

Don't give up ah!

Alooo~
Long time no blog so thought of putting this up lah. My current landlady is a 72-year old auntie who lived with her late mother before her mother passed away at the age of 94 years old  (woww!) 4 years ago
(==" what an introduction!)

She seemed nice to me though she told me that her temper was very bad when she was younger.
On the first Saturday after I've moved in, I saw her sweating profusely while searching for some important mass dates that she should attend in the nearby church.
It was like..
Her back shoulder was all wet and sweats were dripping on the sides of her face.
Few used tissues were on her table.
And she kept on sweating....
Blood also started to drain in my face, I thought "sei for, got problem ahh????"
I was shocked seeing her sweating like that!
I asked her why and she told me that it's normal for her to sweat whenever she was looking for things.
Poor her!

Anyway, on the following day, I brought back an organiser that my colleague had bought for me early this year which I seldom use, unless for drawing few angpows, mandarin oranges and a pig on the month of February (because I'm NOT that organised type of people anyway)..

And I gave it to her
It's the type with large squares with a huge page to represent a month.
That kind of organiser lah..(try to imagine by yourself okay?)

Then, last Saturday (my second Saturday here), her sister gave her an old model of Samsung flip phone.
I was telling her that I will teach her whenever she's ready *ahem* (Being a good teacher..lol!)

Yesterday morning, when I was rushing to the lab, she asked me to teach her in a split second
But that time she was going to church also, and me to lab for a time-point work

So, in the end, the teaching plan failed.

Today, I came home early and asked her immediately whether she was okay with the phone, since she's going for a medical check up in 2-days' time.
Eagerly, she took out her handphone and is finally ready to learn! :D
Hehe..

So, while explaining, I drew some cartoon figures and wrote down some simple instructions on few A4-sized papers for her so that she can refer whenever needed.

However, when I was telling her on what to do, she was again, sweating...
I feel like I'm scaring her ==" aiseh...
Then I told her to relax, take a deep breath and calm down.
She stresses herself too much at times :(

Hehe..
Anyway, she was really happy at the end of the lesson
She said she can sleep peacefully tonight
Lol!

I managed to get her to call me for a few times and her house phone also
Hope she'll remember to call me tomorrow for a test call
Will have to ask her everyday on how to call
Then settled;)

Nothing to blog much so telling this storylah..
My blog like not much updates due to my always busy life :(

Anyway, I'm really glad too that she's able to learn it
I mean, 72 years old and still eager to learn
Poeple of our age..?? Hmmmm :S
Some already want to give up without trying..

So lessons learned ah!

Hope..

Really no hope meh??

I don't know..
If only I have the answers..
I personally believe that if we never try, we'll never know..
But I can't go through my own stage also.. Haih
So forget about myself..
And forget those hopes la..

But my senior and I both think that,- 'some' people nowadays are just so hopeless

And the same goes for our ballot tickets..

I'm desperate to go to this one!! Though the next day I would have to move to a new room~
BTW the next day's Mother's day ler...
Hmmmmmm..and I'm stranded here not going back
>.<

If only I can get larrrrrr~
To see him live!!
