The recent news on Cadbury chocs tainted with porcine DNA had shocked everyone...
My two cents are:
Instead of finding the source (or perhaps there are but the public is unaware of)... they made it into a =.=" racial issue..
Although I'm not that old to experience multi-cultural people eating in a shop like Sabah because I reside in KL, nevertheless, the mentality of the people other than Peninsular is not like this at all..
It's the tolerance and accepting others' faith that made the people so strong..
Now, the small-brains people made it so absurd by saying things like compensation is not enough (if your blood is already tainted, how much money is also not sufficient..and then, the question goes to...the money goes to who?", should tear off the 'halal' label, 'war' against it...
Aren't we supposed to be open-minded and after all, it wasn't intentionally eaten? Thank goodness that there are also religious groups that are aware of the small-issue-turned-big and trying to correct those with improper thinking ones (ie saying wash blood etc....) --> =.="
I'm sure there exists people who say wash blood etc are not that good-hearted, have sinned and don't do charity etc..Do good from home even before you talk about religions, okay??
AND, I really wonder where the source of the news saying there's tainted DNA in the chocolates in the first place... and how come such news exists?
Will these be unsolved issues, again???

Environmental factor vs tradition
Sharks fin soup...
Yep. My younger brother's getting married soon and we're in the midst of finding proper menu and place etc..
=.=
Tedious and wait; I know what you gonna say too: your yOunGer brother?!?
Okay pls skip me..
About the menu, I told my mom to swap sharks fin to others; and she also thought of the same thing too.
The sad part; unfortunately is; the cost for swapping the soup is really high. If one table's price is charged about rm 50 for the swap; the total cost for 30 tables or more would be... (Pls count yourselves).
I told the restaurant manager to stop promoting sharks fin (as it costs less); but sigh.. He said, he can't do much too..how many are willing to fork up extra 1-2k for the sake of helping the sharks?:(
How I wish that I am one of those organizers that start the sharks fin-free delicacy, and tell the chefs to find alternatives. You know, making campaigns to restaurants and provide incentives for the change to other alternatives.
Sigh..No demand = no supply, right?
I even got insulted to arrange veggie meals for this =.=
In fact, I also told my future sis in law to try not to include this is their menu too; but I think her parents are reluctant. Sigh.
Hopeless me..
Anyway, if it's my turn, I'll clarify to the people that come to support others and stop thinking that sharks fin is a delicacy. Sigh..
We won't die without eating the sharks but the sharks will extinct, if we continue to do so..
And I may not be able to help the sharks much, but a small difference may bring a huge impact in future..

Large sizes of Seafood!
Alright, this is a long time overdue post. I had this last year in June before I came back here, after my horrible exam.
Incredibly huge isn't it??
It's a freshwater prawn reared in Sabah. My brother got it from his colleagues and he brought back about 3 kgs I think (can't remember the exact one). Those were very sweeet and juicyyyy!! One of the largest prawn I've ever tasted! :P
Excitingly...
Last Saturday, I had another huge surprise :D :D
I managed to have this!! It's one of the largest crab pincher I've ever tasted in my entire life..hehe! I think my friend was like =.=" (speechless cause I was given the priority to taste it! Though I felt guilty because I wasn't the one who picked it..Anyway, since I was given the chance to eat it, I had it! :D
It was super duper sweeeet and juicyy!! (haih very jakun but really, undeniable!)

Reluctantly, my picture was captured along with this huge crab pincher :P I was too busy eating and didn't bring my camera that day.

Note the yellow small sauce next to my plate- it's sesame sauce. Because many steamboats over here in Singapore consists of pepper hot (Beijing style- lots of pepper and is spicy) and normal soup, therefore the sesame sauce can help to relieve the spicy pepper hot soup. It's different from KL where the steamboats consists of 'tom yam' (sour and hot) soup and a normal soup.
The sesame sauce is supposed to be added with various kinds of other ingredients such as sesame oil, coriander leaves, and any other ingredients that you wanna eat to relieve the spiciness. Trust me, it really helps! (highly recommended for those who can't take spicy soups). You'd be amazed on how the sesame sauce works in relieving the hot symptoms (runny nose, teary eyes, hot tongue). I remember my first time having Beijing steamboat here with those symptoms and also I couldn't stand the beef smell in the soup so I didn't take much of it. Now, I'm proud to say that (ahemm...), I'm used to it already :P
The enjoying dinner in Geylang lasted from 530pm to 8pm. Long hours~ This time's buffet really worth it- for me:P (since I always can't take much food)
In fact, I feel pretty bad for my friend because since I don't eat beef, all the meat were substituted with mutton. Also, I'm regretful to say that I didn't keep my promise. Will for sure, keep my promise for the next time!
So long~
