Another chapter of adventure:)

Finally finished editing a paper (not of my expertise but just helping) and now, went through the really nice Stephen Hawking's movie!!
I seldom enjoy bibiliographies because I find them boring...but this one --> thumbsssss up! very inspiring, touching and great story:')

Oh, BTW, these are the views that I get while being temporary placed here...
One thing for sure that I get to see more: various species of birds chirping around:)
And less buildings, but more

Don't know what lies ahead yet, but for now: tired of walking and the amount of distance that I have had for the past 4 days is equivalent to twice of walking that I had during my previous China-Sichuan trip.

=.="

Oh well, getting out of comfort zone is not easy, especially the previous 1-2 months of rushing preparation for everything...all for these..
And before the interview's advices...thanks!!!:))

So much was done, so much was being expected to be done and all for these:))) *finally*
----> hopefully smooth one though I think more adventures to come somemore...

Think I had complained all to a few very understanding/listening friend who had went through these...and after hearing C's stories particularly; I am especially super grateful with mine.
And that nice last Malaysian food meal before flying off. Gonna miss my char kway teow and asam laksa for a longggggggg time ah! >.<"

But will have lotsa homemade bak kut teh for sure...haha

And singapore's white pepper bak kut teh also..

Anywayyyyy, I'm still feeling really blessed with all these; awesome family and close friends who had provided so much of help/supports/everythinggggg even until the very last minute: my overweight luggages to be put into the taxi before reaching airport and extra things to be 'tumpang'-ed also.

What more should I say? :'))
Big hugssssss to you awesome people!!! :'))

So longggg~

P/S: haven't done any homework on travelling yet......soooooo tiredddddd...but more to cover soon!!

Thought the bad things have ended...

First of all, this is going to be a pretty negative post..

Thought all bad things have ended and will see triple rainbow, only to realise that I'm caught in another act of disappointment..

And seemed that the events that had happened are prolonged and not those short, crash courses during my graduate studies..

I still get harassed by stalkr through messages (which apparently I have finally changed the number and did not inform the rest of the related-circle on the number change, even the close lab members because letting them know would only cause them to tell lies)..
Although the messages sounded kind "ie if you need my help, please do not hesitate to find me" bla bla...
I showed the message to one my the lab members and the answer was "doesn't sound harmful"
To me, I also CBB whether you think I'm paranoid or not...
But it just reminds me of those thriller series when the kidnapper wants the one hiding to come out from the hiding place (while trying to run away/escape) and promises security, safety, no harms, etc..

I didn't even tell my ex-boss of the change of number...

Ie: if they know and when that idio* asks, they have to pretend. It's better if they don't know right? I'm still contactable anyway through some accounts that don't need phone number.

I am really glad that I have moved away too..though initially felt like new landlady is very fussy; but sooner I realised that she is understanding in some ways. And provided me some new guidance that I am quite happy at the meantime..

I also realised that some hopes can never be carried on so I chose to let go..

My previous friend contacted me again, to my surprise..Okay, I may think too much and contemplated too, but my ex landlady (which I visited her few days back to see her and get some letters because she had called me twice in 3 weeks to ask how I am) had mentioned this: 好马不吃回头草 when she asked me whether I want to move back or not..*guilty*
Literally speaking, the chinese idiom was used for the wrong meaning...
I told her that I didn't want her to wait and waste her source of income...and it's not a job, it's a room lahh =.=

Anyway, back to the story: although I think that this is overthinking: but
好马不吃回头草 is applicable to jobs and relationships..which reminds me of my past. Anywayyy, no turning back although I was contacted and there were signs/hints (okay okay i overthink~) cannnoooot perasan!

Then I also probably choose to let go of another haunting, prolonged crisis, it just wouldn't work I guess...

Then there is also this job thing that made me superbly disappointed... I thought it could end all the bad things le, but the recent news that I've heard made me...speechless. How could that someone be so no creditability??

Many stories in these recent months, and 2 years..and most of it prolonged, so much terrible than work-till-wee hours-labwork-no-results-days
:/

But on the other hand, kinda thankful with caring friends that wondered whether I'll fly off for work trip or not because I didn't bother to update them anymore after realising all these crisis.

My another friend said "so dramatic lorr"
I fully agree.... :/

Anyway, I have to hang on, but not very sure of the brighter side anymore...
So long..

Thanks and Picture credits

P/S: Oh well, at least no more midnight-oil burnings!

learning is a bliss..to me

Well, the title says it all;)

We visited a children's home today at Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home..
And the children did practically scare us (maybe me and C, and perhaps other volunteers) because they were really active and noisy.. And some, cheeky as well..
Lol
C was saying " No wonder my best friend didn't want to have children". I can see that this fella is afraid of children XP
Well, to be frank, after entertaining them, I felt really tired too... and was missing my dog miles away.
Concurrently, I felt bitter to see so many sort-of abandoned, without parents or some with certain backgrounds in which we have never encountered and should really feel thankful...

We were first briefed by their staff that the home's name was derived from Dr. Chen Su Lan; and his funds was also used in setting up this huge children place that currently holds 88 children.

First, it was ice breaking..holding hands in 3-somes and changing partners
The girls were really shy of the already-not-many-guys though..Anyway, it was pretty :) :) =D lah

Then, we went on to balloon sculpturing and I'm surprised that the cute poodle dog was quite well-made by C despite only learned a day eh..But I didn't manage to learn it completely because I was then non-stop entertaining other children in blowing and tying the balloons =.="
Anyway, I did overcome my slight fear of balloon popping..heehee
Repeat: learning is a bliss ah~!

Some other children that weren't comfortable with balloons were given the chance to colour. I handled one that started to play balloon and then decided to colour. She was quite 'guai' (obedient), and was asking my opinions to colour the dinosaur. I then drew a pig on her drawing paper so that she could colour it later as well. She even asked me if she could bring the colour pencils back to her room and I said yes. Reminded me of my previous experiences in MINDS...there was a girl who kept keeping the printed drawings in her pocket non-stop

Well, I should have brought my drawing blocks along but I was really late today..sigh
Late for quite sometime somemore... *embarassed but wasn't scolded heh heh...

But when it was finishing time, I felt it was really too short. The event lasted for only 2 h in fact. I left wandering on bus (didn't want to be back early since the day is still really early!) and decided to accomplish my next mission.....

Ta daaaa~

Finally!! :D
Actually, I was having some down moments since yesterday night and then this morning: due to a minor clash with my collaborator but it should be clear that it was neither any of his or my fault..
It was just a useless project...
But I felt really wasted of my time. Thankfully, I was doing another person's project at the same time or I would feel that that week was a total waste..7 days of non-stop late nights and working..plus two pushy emails... tsk tsk tsk...*shake head

Anyway, after spending hours in the music store, the rejuvenated feeling was really good. Though it would feel much better if that someone also stayed there..oh well...they had a very late night yesterday... :/

So long~

P/S: Listening to the songs now...wishing I have a very good audio system to blast it but..hmmmm

Blooming flowers of friendship and life

My best friend whom had battled along with me all these years had left to US for good..
It was a really bitter farewell, and yet paradoxically, a sweet one too for us..
It is really for a much better future for her..

I will be reading on her new chapter of life soon...:)

Losing such a close friend especially in a foreign land, where as you grow older, you tend to be less open too..

It is indeed, quite a different experience for me. Moreover, for me whom treasure friendships and sincere friends, this is something quite drastic. To be frank, it's even much, much more emotional than breaking up...Nevertheless, the wonderfullll moments that we have spent together will always be there..

I have friends that tend to find me only when feel lonely, and I usually do not response much to these requests. Recently I have one occasion, after realizing that her husband had left the country for work and she's lonely. And to be truth, I really regretted saying yes to meet her up before finding out that her husband had left for work. I was trying to pacify myself to be more understanding for her, but I just can't lie to myself.

Lessons: always remember to spend time only with people whom you think is worth spending your time with.

On the other side, since the long draught from early this year, the plants were all dried and drying: which was kind of sad.

Now, these are blooming again:D thanks to the rainy season/ normal rain-shine-rain-shine days:D

I had been watching the grass turned from:

And wind blewing off this going-to-bloom-soon flower due to the extreme dry season... :(

To.. Ta daaaaa~
See what I've found:

The last picture is more meaningful for me, because as I pass through the field every morning, these grass flowers seemed to bloom and occupy more than the day before..

They're in fact, just normal ordinary grass.. But imagine being a tiny people walking among these beautiful 'trees', nice right???:p

So long~

Movie lessons

While we were looking at the cinema screen for any other interesting movie, a young stranger came up to us..
And so, the conversation became like this:
A: Hi. I Hv 3 tickets here as my friends failed to turn up (showing us the tickets)
Me: oh. We've bought ours, thanks. What time is the show?
A:7pm (5mins away).
Me: maybe you can give to those by the Q?
A: I don't dare leh.
Me: =.='' then you dare to pass to us??? (Sigh... Not a good sign huh? Do we looked tht timid? Urgh...)
A: well, they're by the counter.....
Me: oh..okay. thanks but, we have to go already. (Sigh I can't believe tht at all =.=)

I wouldn't care so much for this young boy's words if not because of recent events in which I've been told I'm small size la, girl will always be weaker la..etc...
Nonsense huh?:(

Feel like I/we will be targeted if go out to travel alone too...

And second lesson learned is:

Pls check synopsis before buying ticket as 'non-stop' is a not suitable movie for those that will flying off long distance soon....

I was just so tempted with the main actor (heh heh) that I forgot tht I was one of those complaining the cost-saving movie from this airplane-based settings.. XP

Lessons learned: say no when you feel so

I have this deep sense of responsibilities when people asked for my help. And I'm way disappointed with myself for this.
I've finally learned this in a hard, hard way; that is: to say no when you just want to. And protect yourself. Sometimes, many thing just CBB anymore...

Please, please let me plant this in my mind!

I'm kind of disappointed that I only learn when I meet selfish people. And usually, a few events are needed to trigger this and not just once. Sigh
I'm just low in EQ I guess:(

And I've to learn not to trust people that easily anymore, despite their promises. But I'll continue keeping my words as I always will, and never hurt any party the way I do not want to be treated.

Lessons learned.. I confess here: I'm deeply disappointed with you bunch of selfish people..
Perhaps, I'm just not up to this game.. Or perhaps, I just care too much of others' feelings..

And now, I'm way too disappointed..

Sigh, I really need to go back to my happy self and not posting these kind of emo events anymore..

The gift hunting, farewell and karaoke sessions are more than enough to remember this- for.life.

NUS commencement 2013

It was an unexpected surprise for most of everything after the official ceremony...

well, it was initially a formal one until I heard the Prof chairperson announcing '...-KAI'...urrghhh
and so my expression turned suddenly from :\ (coz scared of falling on stage) to :S (after the mis-pronunciation) and then I just can't be bothered, and so I  turned to this --> :D when I went to receive the scroll..with their cheerings...(else my pic would have a pale-faced one)

I think I'm the only one with cheerings (shy nya!) besides the last graduate recepient (because everyone was so bored to wait for the ceremony to finish!)

These friends of mine actually insisted shouting despite my reluctance, because who knows, I might fall further with sudden cheerings, right?

Actually the main reason I told them not to cheer was because: the hall is a very quiet, formal hall. boring type (full stop)

What they replied was: we will cheer louder and take more picture if you did fall!
shheeshhhhh >.<

And because this prata-hat looks like a witch's hat...they came up with all sorts of idea from stealing a stalk of plants that were used as a decor on the table to make a wand...to the final creative idea of combining two black straws to make a nice wand!

Finally, the battle of commencing this year came true!! :') Now, what's next?

Anyway, congratulations to the batch of 2013 Commencement graduates!!
:D

Kinda touched with their presence :')
Guess it's gonna be a journey to be forever and ever, remembered....

Babbling too much

Recently I have this habit of babbling too much- erm, through emails...mainly because:

1. I was too occupied with writing and writing- that until my brain seemed to dysfunction
2. I was anti-social- all outings reduced to -1
3. I was sitting at my desk place most of the time- health also probably deteriorated; lack of sports!!
4. I wasn't having sufficent sleeping hours.. 5-6 hours? - resulting in strenuous brain after waking up

Oh boy, I deserve a looooooooooooong gooooood holiday!

Anyway, my points wasn't the above:
well, I bombed my colleague's email yesterday coz I wasn't focused on the email that he had sent me just for my information...
I first replied with a wrong date
Then i corrected the date
Then I sent another email saying please disregard my earlier two emails to further explain and minus his time reading my email...(it was about 6pm, all done within 15mins?)
Then today morning, i realised that i read the contents of the email wrongly...OOooopPPsss
Means I had deciphered the wrong information
And so, whatever that I wrote yesterday were in fact- useless
Hmmmmmm --> :S (this was my expression when I was showering, because the thought just came up when I was having my morning shower)
zzzzzzzzzzzz

And so, I decided to send him the 4th email apologizing: sorry for bombing your mailbox
aiyohhh how paiseh I felt
how blur was I ah? =="

anyway, felt kinda touched when he said these:

No problem.
I don’t really understand what you are writing anyway.
Good to get things out of your system when you are stressed. Bomb my mailbox anytime.

LOL
haihhhh...paisehnyaaaaa
==
but really, really thankful for sweeeet people like these too ^^

and suddenly I'm thankful not for being a doctor
imagine how careless would I be?
:S

anyway, thanks everything to brain dysfunction! So lousy, at such a young age and being such a blur person :(
And before all these, I only got complimented for being meticulous
wrong judgement hor...

Sigh...Recently, the sleep deprivation effect had me feeling lack of sufficient sleep, that even my junior, when she saw me (for us to have lunch), she asked me- did you just wake up from sleep?

zzzzzzzz
If I have such a nice life to wake up from sleep during lunch hour... that would be a rainbow lor! Plus, impossible for right now when the writing work is so intense...
okayla so long~

No longer yesterday

~When you're in a prolonged state of denial, everything becomes surreal and it finally brings to a consequence- you never wished it had happened at all ~

Deep thinking today since the conversation yesterday

As more and more events take place
With more moments flying
It was no longer yesterday
No longer like that anymore
That's why, should never take things for granted..

How fast time flies, how fast people change hor?
I guess these are what we call time changes people
It was a good question asked- why feel like that when you're getting what you wished for?
Things happens for a reason, remember?

My long holiday at home also reminds me of something that I thought I'll never go through it
Somehow it was a relieve leh
=) Glad that it happened
I never thought I would have done it..

But another problem is still tailing up, have to finish it fast and that's it ..

Anyway, keep moving on yeah!

Sorry- post-home emotions is always like this..need a few days to recover :P
Btw, I have a nice old song to share with you:

so long~ Happy collecting angpows!!!

Short updates

Aloooo~~
Yep, short updates on me..
Been so inactive lately in blogging part and also in visiting other's blogs..
Procastination is definitely the case..but being busy too is one of the reasons. Works are piling up as always.

I went back home just in time to celebrate my dad's birthday, brother's birthday and also Father's day. All-in-one trip. Not forgetting, Mother's day one since I failed to go back home in May.
So four-in-one huh?:P
So unwillingly have to come back though most of the time was spent shopping with family, especially with my mom :D
I was very glad too because all of us was around. Lucky that both my brothers were available to celebrate all these special events together.

We went Rakuzen for Japanese buffet lunch located at Chulan Square, since both my parents hardly indulge in Japanese food. We were taking efforts in organising this grand lunch especially for our beloved dad. However, we did had some setbacks because my brother wanted them to have traditional Chinese cookings in restaurants (because he's worried that my parents might not be enjoying the food), but I wanted something more extraordinary since my parents seldom eat Japanese food, and what more, buffet style.

Initially, I wanted them to have it at the Rakuzen@Sri Hartamas since I found many good recommendations at that place but unfortunately, they were fully booked :(
So, we reserved the Chulan Square's one.
The food was good, and the service was excellent! I especially liked the green tea ice cream :D
The amount of salmon fish that I took was also =.+"
I think I will stop having raw salmon fish for some time..

Overall, it was definitely a good one! At least, I'm truly glad that my parents did enjoyed the food too..hehe
They say they wouldn't mind going for food like this again. =D

I managed to meet up very few friends only this time for simple meet ups and also indulge in some good music!

Then, I finally went to Universal Studio Singapore and Sentosa and we had lotsa fun there!
Thanks for the souvenirs and the rides! Hehe :D

As for now, more work to come.
Some of the good news are:
  1. I'll be meeting an old friend who had taught me lots of things when I was doing my practical years ago in here soon! hehe :D
  2. My sort-of-godbrother- unofficial one is going to commence and get his pHD title!! Finally~~!!! :D
  3. My another old friend will be coming here for a short visit!
  4. I'll get to watch my senior to graduate too! Am so glad!
  5. Probably some old friends will be dropping by here too if they can make it, since they'll be having a long holiday in M'sia. We'll see we'll see;)
Anyway, hopefully things will be smoother by September =)
Remember that time flies, so please treasure time with your family. I realised that my parents are aging so fast, and that I hardly spend much time with them. I hope I don't regret this in years to come.

So long~

Life's chicken essence- blasts after blasts until no feelings

Been having so much of shocking and saddening things lately that any bad thing that came by will be another blast for me.
I was initially planning a thorough, full labwork this week (especially these two days and coming one week. This work would be equivalent to about 3 weeks' work or my past 3 months' work when I frst started) since my current work is halted due to my another going-on stuffs.

But all the bad things before these weren't that heavy/ much until today, when I realised that I've finally broken my record here of having contaminated cells.. haihhhhhhhh!!! Whole half batch got this error..really record-breaking >.<
Never broken this record before!
Eee yerrr....

Was so disappointed..all my efforts wasted!
Worst is, I got so disappointed that it became a no-feeling thingy..
Like a feeling-less zombie..I walked around the lab and back to my table..

Luckily got this bunch of funny labmates around that my mood turned 180 degrees hours later.
But still.. almost any blasts that I know I'm already going through. Any more??
Perhaps I should mandi bunga, or whatever that can be done to go back to myself?
Help~~~!!!

By the way, these songs are really niceeee!!
Westlife's What About Now &;
Westlife's Leaving

The 'Leaving' song, really touching *sobs*
Haih...leaving~

So long laa...~

Turn over a new leaf!

Hieee!! I'm back!
Okay, that was a loooong expired story. I didn't even blog much due to my current busy work. I do find times to read blogs but..hmm..to write blogs is now a procrastination:P

I didn't even hang around much in facebook, so you should know how much my busy life is..

Anyway, I was chatting to one of my ex-students when I was a temporary teacher back then. It was about 3 years plus since I've known some of them. Some are currently very, very good bloggers =)

One of my students, E, had been in touch with me during all these years. So I know how and what he was up to, as he confessed almost everything to me. Before this, I was kind of sad of how bad he had become due to the wrong mixture of friends. Peer pressure is just so so so important.. I was hoping that he'd turn over a new leaf, stop mixing that bad group of company, stop fighting, and will not get sick again due to negligence..

Somehow, it was more that i listen to, always nag him and always give the best advices that i could think of but I don't know the effectiveness much. He said I did helped wor..I don't know..

ANyway, the GOOD news is: -he has found a decent job recently! :D
At least a job that could be beneficial in the future, though I still doubt how long it'd last..*crosses fingers*

I'm glad that he did not turn into the bad group of friends :D :D :D

He has turned over a new leaf!
 Picture was from here :)
 so long~~ :D

And this was what I got..

How sweeeeeeeet! =) =') *sobs*

CS's farewell

The moboto guy is leaving on a rich scholarship..
Funny thing is I heard from their group that their last reunion was 2 yearssss ago.
If this moboto guy is not leaving, maybe the next reunion would be- err- when there's a marriage? :P

Not all of us gathered because some have left to other places after the lunch. So there..few of us here posing

Small meet-up

WT, XQ and I met up yesterday. I think it has been almost 7 years since we've last met up. I was initially worried, I mean- 3 people, and some of us who couldn't click at all back then could meet up here - in such a small place ( Sg ) and talked bad about ( not revealing ...... :P)

And coincidentally CS actually arranged another Form 6 reunion at the same time and I missed it again.

Anyway, I felt really appreciative after meeting them. I mean, they're staying pretty far away , have work shifts and tonnes of work (that I heard that it's very usual for them to go back home every day after the cleaning lady comes at 10pm) and their effort to make this small meet-up a success was really sweet. (Reminds me of my Form 6 reunion when I went back weeks ago :D) In fact, to plan this small gathering took us one month!

As they always say, people change, things change, whatever it is, but definitely, time passes so quickly. Hearing how they struggle in the current workforce and dealing with everyday-life-is-like-that-or-worst situation makes me think hard. I don't know if it's because of the culture that changed certain people to like that.

It's like being forced to become like that but one is not accepting the forces to change, or perhaps slowly adopting it. Newton's law or whatever law just doesn't work. So in the end, that party struggles.

Bad? Good? I don't know. I still can see the coping-up stage of her though she's here for so many years already.

I just realised that many of us are like that.

So long~

Friendship

Friends
Remain
And
Never
Can
End

Remember this acronym?

In fact, I don't really see much truth on this. Possibly because, most 99% friends use friends than actually, preserving a friendship.

But what I heard of yesterday night was a great story:)

How a person is changed drastically from A to B, physically and mentally.
It's like a new person!
Well, I think it's not really that different, to me, you've changed to a much much wiser person. The phrase that you always use- 'from experience, from experience and from experience'.
So much of experiences ar?
Everything also from experiences.
:P

Hmm...but true, I have similar cases but definitely not as drastic as yours.
My teachers are many and transient, err, mostly.

But, I'm truly inspired.
You're very very lucky, Kuan Ming.
Really lucky.
It's even better than striking a lottery ok!

And I'm glad that you treasure it fully.
By the way, who's BOSS no 1??

If Boss no. 2 is so meaningful already, the first one must be even greater!

P/S: What I am today is also a result of changes from many, many people that had come across my life. To me, I am really thankful for them because experienced people taught me more than anything else that I've learned in this world. Thank you, guys!!
a BIG HUG to all of you!!
Emo blog early in the morning:P

So long~~
