Don't give up ah!

Alooo~
Long time no blog so thought of putting this up lah. My current landlady is a 72-year old auntie who lived with her late mother before her mother passed away at the age of 94 years old  (woww!) 4 years ago
(==" what an introduction!)

She seemed nice to me though she told me that her temper was very bad when she was younger.
On the first Saturday after I've moved in, I saw her sweating profusely while searching for some important mass dates that she should attend in the nearby church.
It was like..
Her back shoulder was all wet and sweats were dripping on the sides of her face.
Few used tissues were on her table.
And she kept on sweating....
Blood also started to drain in my face, I thought "sei for, got problem ahh????"
I was shocked seeing her sweating like that!
I asked her why and she told me that it's normal for her to sweat whenever she was looking for things.
Poor her!

Anyway, on the following day, I brought back an organiser that my colleague had bought for me early this year which I seldom use, unless for drawing few angpows, mandarin oranges and a pig on the month of February (because I'm NOT that organised type of people anyway)..

And I gave it to her
It's the type with large squares with a huge page to represent a month.
That kind of organiser lah..(try to imagine by yourself okay?)

Then, last Saturday (my second Saturday here), her sister gave her an old model of Samsung flip phone.
I was telling her that I will teach her whenever she's ready *ahem* (Being a good teacher..lol!)

Yesterday morning, when I was rushing to the lab, she asked me to teach her in a split second
But that time she was going to church also, and me to lab for a time-point work

So, in the end, the teaching plan failed.

Today, I came home early and asked her immediately whether she was okay with the phone, since she's going for a medical check up in 2-days' time.
Eagerly, she took out her handphone and is finally ready to learn! :D
Hehe..

So, while explaining, I drew some cartoon figures and wrote down some simple instructions on few A4-sized papers for her so that she can refer whenever needed.

However, when I was telling her on what to do, she was again, sweating...
I feel like I'm scaring her ==" aiseh...
Then I told her to relax, take a deep breath and calm down.
She stresses herself too much at times :(

Hehe..
Anyway, she was really happy at the end of the lesson
She said she can sleep peacefully tonight
Lol!

I managed to get her to call me for a few times and her house phone also
Hope she'll remember to call me tomorrow for a test call
Will have to ask her everyday on how to call
Then settled;)

Nothing to blog much so telling this storylah..
My blog like not much updates due to my always busy life :(

Anyway, I'm really glad too that she's able to learn it
I mean, 72 years old and still eager to learn
Poeple of our age..?? Hmmmm :S
Some already want to give up without trying..

So lessons learned ah!

Hope..

Really no hope meh??

I don't know..
If only I have the answers..
I personally believe that if we never try, we'll never know..
But I can't go through my own stage also.. Haih
So forget about myself..
And forget those hopes la..

But my senior and I both think that,- 'some' people nowadays are just so hopeless

And the same goes for our ballot tickets..

I'm desperate to go to this one!! Though the next day I would have to move to a new room~
BTW the next day's Mother's day ler...
Hmmmmmm..and I'm stranded here not going back
>.<

If only I can get larrrrrr~
To see him live!!

Life's chicken essence- blasts after blasts until no feelings

Been having so much of shocking and saddening things lately that any bad thing that came by will be another blast for me.
I was initially planning a thorough, full labwork this week (especially these two days and coming one week. This work would be equivalent to about 3 weeks' work or my past 3 months' work when I frst started) since my current work is halted due to my another going-on stuffs.

But all the bad things before these weren't that heavy/ much until today, when I realised that I've finally broken my record here of having contaminated cells.. haihhhhhhhh!!! Whole half batch got this error..really record-breaking >.<
Never broken this record before!
Eee yerrr....

Was so disappointed..all my efforts wasted!
Worst is, I got so disappointed that it became a no-feeling thingy..
Like a feeling-less zombie..I walked around the lab and back to my table..

Luckily got this bunch of funny labmates around that my mood turned 180 degrees hours later.
But still.. almost any blasts that I know I'm already going through. Any more??
Perhaps I should mandi bunga, or whatever that can be done to go back to myself?
Help~~~!!!

By the way, these songs are really niceeee!!
Westlife's What About Now &;
Westlife's Leaving

The 'Leaving' song, really touching *sobs*
Haih...leaving~

So long laa...~

Memories- Dr Tong Chow Chin demise

Today marks one of the happiest day in many people's life as they can perform pranks on others.

But to me, it is a point that determines how fast time flies. How fragile life is and how we've always take things for granted.

It's already one year since one of my favourite lecturers had passed away due to the killing disease, leukemia.
I remember visiting him for the last time to get a letter from him, where he had carefully and genuinely well-prepared for me. Being a very considerate man (he was not feeling well when I met him), he told me to wait at the tables outside for better air circulation. We had a good chit chat while he was coughing halfway. I thought it was just some normal sickness. I never knew that it would be the last time for me to see him.

He always mentioned on his family, how his son and daughter are doing. I bet he must be a real proud dad :)
I even felt delighted when he shared the news that his daughter's in UPM studying medicine now. I hope she goes on strong there.

May he rest in peace. And may his family go on well too.

Today also marks the day I've realised how things go so not right.
The amount of work and effort and time wasted is definitely not worthwhile at all.

I hope there's still a glimpse of hope..
Being a pessimistic person very recently, I really wonder how long I can hang on..
Sigh

Kranji Farm

Due to lotsa work and limited outdoor activity, we've finally decided to go out for a good photography session..In short, to get back to our beloved interests :D

LG suggested that we go to this Kranji Farm, where there are numerous industrialised farms here..In fact, I was quite surprised that Singapore has farms :P

The bus driver is an exceptional friendly uncle. He was introducing the farms to a US tourist (and perhaps to us also).
However, the shuttle bus service is only available at a long interval of 1 and 1/2 hours..which made us walked like !@#$%^& at such a hot weather.
We also learned another lesson: apply sunblock!!! Sigh..when I reached home,  I could clearly see the vast skin colour differences between the skin hidden underneath my watch with those exposed areas >.<

The farms over there were leased out by the Singapore government for 20 years and these farmers will get initial funds to set up the farms. These are the photos, do enjoy =)

Btw, to go to this farm, visit this site for its location and maps..make sure you guys do enough homework before going to these farms, as waiting for the next shuttle bus is a really a time-wasting and energy-draining experience~ Especially if it's a really really hot sunny day..
Also, there's a public bus that goes in there :SMRT bus no 925 from Kranji MRT.
What caught my attraction at this fish farm was mainly this huge friendly macaw! :D It reminds me of my past visit to Singapore's Bird Park which I had the ultimate chance to pat and scratch the macaws at the talking-birds session. In fact, some of the macaws in the bird park were initially unfriendly and some were jealous when they see you scratching others but not themselves.

I was told by one of the zookeepers to ask the macaws "Can I touch you?". If the macaw leans forward with its head bowed, that means that you can scratch their heads. If this sign was not given, you should not put your hand/finger into the cage because those macaws can bite. (However, any injuries resulted from my statement here is at your own risks and discretion yeah..Don't blame me or sue me later if you got bitten :P)

Aiii...I missed those moments greatly! I even told myself that I want to go volunteer there if I have those opportunities.. :P

The 'Hello-greeting' Macaw at Max Koi. Sooo soo cutee!!

Unidentified satellite mushroom by the roadside during our place-hunting spree
At Nyee Phoe Farm..:
Water droplets of a spider lily stem
At Hay Dairies with cuteeee goats and kids~

Rained heavily after that..got drenched =.="
But a good experience~
